The Swiss Zoological Society (SZS) promotes zoological research, interdisciplinary exchange, and networking within zoology and related fields at both national and international levels. It connects researchers across all career stages and is dedicated to disseminating new scientific findings.

The SZS is open to everyone interested in zoology. As a member of the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT), it serves as a central platform for organismal biology in Switzerland. In collaboration with the Swiss Botanical and Systematics Societies, the SZS funds and organizes the country's largest annual conference in this domain, facilitating exchange and networking among researchers and students from various disciplines and institutions. The Revue Suisse de Zoologie, an internationally recognized scientific journal and the official publication organ of the SZS, is published in partnership with the Natural History Museum of Geneva. Additionally, the SZS supports particularly early-career scientists by providing travel grants for international conferences and fieldwork, and honors outstanding scientific contributions with the Early Achievement Award.
